Mark Levy – La Verne, CA
Mark has been in the pet grooming industry for nine years. Before this, he was working in the mortgage industry, but the 2008 recession prompted him to find something better. Mark’s family led him to becoming his own business owner. His son was working as a groomer, and his son’s devotion became the father’s. After forty years in the corporate world, serendipity guided him to begin owning his own Splash and Dash Groomerie & Boutique franchise.
He’s not the type of man to just roll over and retire. Mark stays busy. You can even see him in plays. He is deeply active in the La Vern Theatre community.
“I’m involved in so many projects. When I was in the war, I made the troops laugh– that’s what I love. I genuinely care, there’s no phony-ness here.” Anyone who knows Mark, knows he likes being part of the community. Mark’s edge is the laughter he shares.
“I want people to to come in and know that their part of a family. My employees are my kids, the dogs are my grandchildren. It’s nice to be able to play with your grandchildren. My employees know every dog that comes in by name, and we treat them just like we do our kids. We take care of them like kids, they just have four legs instead of two.”
Mark’s wife has raised Cocker Spaniels for years, the house has always been a full one. The family has one doggie named Dimitri who is now 14-years-old. The lovin’ is spread thick for Dimitri, and extends to the pets, and pet parents who come into Mark’s Shop.
“I still tell all our customers we’re a place where a cold nose is treated with a warm heart, and everyone is treated as royalty.”
