Lauri and Charlotte Pasqua, both lifelong pet lovers, are the sister duo at the Splash and Dash Groomerie & Boutique in Baton Rouge. While growing up, their family always had an abundance of animals around the house. This included outdoor cats, hamsters and fish. Their brother would add lizards, frogs, and even snakes when mom wasn’t looking.
It wasn’t until about 10 years ago, when Lauri discovered her true love for dogs through an animal rescue. Lauri, along with her partner, have picked up every stray animal they’ve come across (this includes dogs, cats, and even pigs).
Charlotte’s story is similar, adopting her first puppy while shopping for cat food, it was love at first sight. Charlotte continued working with animals at a hospice in Los Angeles, where pet therapy was frequently used for coping and mental health.
The sisters were always interested in opening a business involving animals, which is where Splash and Dash Groomerie & Boutique came in. “What stood out was the owner, Dan Barton, with his deep knowledge of the pet grooming industry and business” said Charlotte.
The sisters wanted a business model that was already established and had proven success. They wanted their love for animals to shine as bright as possible, “having the ability to treat animals like family is why we do this” said Lauri.
What stood out to the sisters was Dan’s love for his own dog Mercedes. After much thought, they realized Splash and Dash Groomerie & Boutique was the family for them.
The sisters’ new shop is going to offer something special. A service that other groomers in the Baton Rouge area can’t provide with the monthly membership.
